ASL for Beginners: Series 1

Service Description

Weekly Course: Five 1-hour sessions Class Size: Minimum 2, Maximum 11. COURSE DESCRIPTION: Get rewarding results from taking an American Sign Language class from an ASL pro who is committed to your success! All of our instructors are experienced and certified sign language interpreters, teachers, linguists, and native signers. In these six sessions, participants will get a basic introduction and background of American Sign Language, and will build skills in basic conversational ASL. CONTENT: In these four sessions, students will receive instruction in basic ASL grammar & conversational ASL including Classes 1 & 2: Introductions, Sharing basic Information about yourself, Yes/No questions, Basic ASL grammar, Simple affirmative sentences & negative sentences, and related facial expressions & body language, Intro to Fingerspelling, & Numbers 0-12. Classes 3 & 4: Communicating about learning ASL, navigating encounters in ASL, referring to approximate & specific location, asking for more information, showing you understand.
